Census of Works
We collect all the works of the painter François Cachoud, the oil paintings, the pastels, the watercolors, the drawings, the works of youth ... Do not hesitate to contribute to this catalog raisonné by transmitting photographs, if possible in High definition, paintings of these artists, accompanied by the type of support (canvas, panel ...), dimensions outside the frame and possibly the provenance or any information about the work.

Born in 1866 in Chambéry, France, he is the son of a baker. Aged 17, he left the studies to integrate the administration of the Ponts-et-Chaussés. It was during this period that he began taking drawing courses with the painter Benoît Molin. He became friends with another student named Ernest Filliard, a future watercolor artist. The young Francis progresses rapidly. Thanks to scholarships granted by the city of Chambéry, he left his native Savoy to find Paris and his school of Fine Arts. He is only 23 years old. He became successively the pupil of the teacher Elie Delaunay then of Gustave Moreau. From 1905, he became a painter of night landscapes. He likes to represent the surroundings of Chambéry, Lake Bourget, Lake Aiguebellette ... He exhibits every year at the Salon des Artistes Français. In 1900, he was awarded the bronze medal at the Exposition Universelle in Paris. Ten years later, he was appointed Chevalier of the Legion of Honor. He will produce advertising illustrations for the P.L.M. He contributes to the decoration of the steamer La Savoie. He died on January 29, 1943 in Saint-Alban-de-Montbel.
